Private Villa in Spain Quote

Below are just a sample of the many photos and images we have taken whilst on holiday in Spain, some are very local others are a bit further afield, please contact us soon and see how easy it is to book your next holiday in this beautiful area of Spain's Costa Blanca. The Fonts de Algar, Benidorm The Fonts de Algar, Benidorm THE FONTS DE ALGAR
The Fonts de Algar are roughly one and half hours drive from the Villa in the hills behind Benidorm. We visited them with some friends in August 2006 and whilst the water was cold the scenery was breathtaking. The Fonts start high in the hills and cascade down through numerous waterfalls into turquoise coloured lagoons, there are some diving boards in the deeper lagoons. We waded quite high up into the hills in the water passing through ravines and climbing over rocks. It's great place to visit, highly recommended although it would have to be on a hot day because the water was cold! Children of all ages would like this.

Alicante Harbour Alicante Harbour ALICANTE
Alicante has much to offer, if you like boats and yachts then there are some lovely craft for you to drool over and a chance to rub shoulders with their millionaire owners in the harbour. There is a street market on the Esplande most days with many shops, boutiques, bars, restaurants, etc. lining the many streets of the city. There is the Castle on the hill which is well worth a visit as the views from there are stunning both looking out to sea over the harbour and inland over the city across to the mountains beyond. Alicante has a wonderful street life and some colourful characters, we prefer to visit Alicante at night as the atmosphere during the evenings is very relaxed and you can while away a couple of hours at a bar just watching the world go by, a truly lovely, and still very Spanish, city that has not been overrun by tourism.

Modern Valencia Modern Valencia VALENCIA
Valencia has very modern parts to the city. We only visited the Oceanographic Institute on our last visit there which we spent several hours in, we would recommend visiting the institute even though it's a good drive to get there. There were dolphin and sea lion shows, numerous display tanks filled with many usual and ugly fish and all sorts of marine life, all spread over a large modern park area. The photo is of a building, the blue one, adjacent to the Oceanographic Centre which is next to a very impressive suspension road bridge and the white structure in the background seemed to be a architectural frame built over an arboretum and park, very modern.

Villajoyosa Villajoyosa VILLAJOYOSA
Villajoyosa is a very colourful town not far from the Villa. Most of its houses at the bottom of the town, near the sea front, are brightly coloured as in this photo I took when we were last there. We spent a few hours wandering the narrow back streets looking at the houses and found a church tucked away where a typical Spanish wedding was taking place, a big event in Spain! Wandering down towards the sea front you come across an open Esplanade with bars and restaurants overlooking a superb white sandy beach, with palm trees for shade and then out over to the clear blue Mediterranean sea.

Palm trees in Elche Palm trees in Elche ELCHE
Elche is famous for its palm trees, there are several parks full of them and other interesting plants, waterfalls and water features. Elche is an old town with a small castle, many churches, rustic back streets with small bars and restaurants. Whilst there we visited one of the churches which allowed you to go up the bell tower, this give us magnificent views over the town and across to another church with a glistening, deep blue tiled roof, a truly beautiful, relaxed town to visit if you get the chance to go.

SUMMARY

Mick Walpole Mick Walpole These are just a few of many pictures we have taken. We have tried to travel around the area as much as possible when we go to the Villa and although the local area has a lot to offer we have been to some pretty amazing places, some of which we probably could never find again because we just stumbled across them.

Alicante, Torrevieja, Elche, La Marina and all of this area of Spain has so much to offer you and ninety per cent of the time it's all bathed in glorious, warm sunshine. The Mediterranean sea is clear and blue right up and down this coastline, the people are always friendly and welcoming, these are all reasons why we decided to buy our bit of Spain in this area.
